KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has submitted a memorandum to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), demanding investigations and action against all past and present corruption cases.
A delegation of the RPP, led by party Chairperson Ranedra Prasad Lingden, reached CIAA headquarters in Tangal on Friday and handed over a memorandum.
In the memorandum, the RPP has urged the constitutional anti-graft body to launch thorough investigations into major corruption scandals such as the Sudan scam, Lalita Niwas land grab, wide-body aircraft procurement, cantonment fraud, Omni Group case, and the Ncell tax issue.
The party also accused the CIAA of lacking impartiality and effectiveness in its investigation.
RPP highlighted recent cases such as the fake Bhutanese refugee scam, cooperative frauds, skyrocketing construction material prices, and audio clips implicating ministers have tarnished Nepal’s image on the global platform.
It also expressed concern over delays in probing large-scale corruption cases like Pokhara and Gautam Buddha international airports, Manipal Medical College, Chinese aircraft procurement, and misuse of agricultural subsidies worth billions of rupees.
