KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has directed its party ranks to participating in welcoming former king Gyanendra Shah, postponing its pre-scheduled program.
A meeting of the party’s office-bearers held in Kathmandu on Wednesday took the decision.
“Taking into account the welcome program organized by civil society for the former king’s return to Kathmandu from Pokhara, the party has decided to postpone its pre-scheduled mass meeting planned in Kathmandu for March 9. Instead, the party ranks and the general public are requested to gather at Tribhuvan International Airport to welcome the former king,” a statement issued by RPP’s Publicity Department Chief, Mohan Kumar Shrestha, said.
The meeting also welcomed former King Shah’s address to the people issued on the occasion of Democracy Day.
