KATHMANDU: Police have released Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Nepal Chairperson Kamal Thapa, RPP lawmaker Deepak Singh and others, who were detained during the pro-monarchy protest in Kathmandu.
RPP Nepal’s General Secretary Rajaram Bartaula confirmed that the arrested leaders were released on Sunday evening.
Police, however, have not released one individual arrested on Sunday as he is allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
A total of seven, including Thapa, were arrested from Narayanchaur, Naxal, while Singh was arrested when he reached the District Police Range, Kathmandu, to meet Thapa.
