KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has instructed its member of the House of Representatives, Gita Basnet, to surrender before the court and comply with the law.
After the central working committee meeting of the party held in Kathmandu on Monday, RPP Chairperson Rajendra Lingiden said that the party has decided to instruct lawmaker Basnet to cooperate with the police. “We have been made aware of a case filed by the police against Basnet in relation to siphoning of funds from Chhipchhipe Cooperative in Nawalparasi to Krishnasar Resort, of which she is a director,” Lingden said. “The party has already instructed lawmaker Basnet to cooperate with the investigation.”
Nawalpur District Court issued an arrest warrant for lawmaker Basnet three weeks ago.
The meeting has also demanded that the government investigate other cooperative fraud cases without delay.
