KATHMANDU: Nepal Army Wednesday said rescue works in earthquake-affected areas of Doti have been completed.
A magnitude 6.6 earthquake with an epicenter in Khaptad National Park early Wednesday morning floored dozen of houses in Doti district, claiming six lives.
The army said it had immediately deployed search and rescue teams in earthquake-affected areas. “The team recovered six bodies and rescued seven persons from the rubbles,” the army said in a statement.
Five injured are receiving treatment at Doti District Hospital. Likewise, two seriously injured have been flown to Dhangadhi for treatment, according to the army.
According to the statement, the army also distributed food, tarpaulin, blankets, utensils and clothing to quake-effected people.
