KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed commitment to take the remaining works of the peace process to conclusion within two years.
Addressing a meeting of party workers in Gorkha on Friday, Dahal said the 10-party ruling coalition has agreed to conclude the peace process within two years. “We will work collectively to this end,” he added.
He also discussed the progress that the government made in its first 100 days. “The government prioritized social justice, good governance, and development in this period,” he said. Dahal acknowledged that while the improvements may not be immediately apparent, the work done during these first 100 days has laid the foundation for long-term progress and development.
The Prime Minister also highlighted some of the government’s achievements, including improvements to services such as driver’s licenses and passports, as well as efforts to connect Nepalis living abroad with the government’s social security scheme. He also mentioned that foreign currency reserves have improved due to policy decisions taken by the government.
Dahal also said that the ruling coalition has already started preparing for the policies and programs of the government for the new fiscal year.
