KATHMANDU: Ruling CPN-UML has concluded that attempts to push the country backward into a regressive direction will not succeed.
A meeting of the party’s Secretariat held on Monday passed a special resolution, stating that efforts to reject achieved accomplishments, create negative narratives, undermine the morale of the people and the nation, and use these as excuses to drag the country into an undemocratic direction are unacceptable.
UML also said that it has been closely monitoring the well-orchestrated activities against the democratic republic and the Constitution of Nepal that have been taking place for some time.
Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali said that the meeting concluded that any attempts to reverse the country’s progress and push it toward a regressive path will not succeed. “The meeting concluded that discussions about hereditary rule based on birthright superiority in the 21st century are absurd, harmful and meaningless,” he added.
