KATHMANDU: Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) has unanimously elected Ramsahaya Prasad Yadav as its parliamentary party leader in the House of Representatives.
Party Chairman Upendra Yadav picked Ramsahaya as the parliamentary party leader, putting aside the claims of another co-chairman Ashok Kumar Rai.
Ramsahaya is a close confidant of party chairman Yadav.
JSP sources say Yadav has already informed the party’s lawmakers about Ramsahaya’s selection as the parliamentary party leader. The party has 12 lawmakers in the House of Representatives. Five of them is said to be close to Rai.
JSP, a member of the newly-formed seven-party alliance, has already decided to join the government led by CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
