Ramesh Badal named new Attorney General

KATHMANDU: Senior Advocate Ramesh Badal has been reappointed as the Attorney General.

President Ram Chandra Paudel appointed Badal to the position on the recommendation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli as per Article 157 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal, 2015, according to a statement issued by the Office of President.

Badal earlier served as the Attorney General of the Oli-led government on March 19, 2021. He served for about four months and stepped down after Sher Bahadur Deuba was appointed Prime Minister as per the Supreme Court’s mandamus order.
