Ram Chandra Poudel will be presidential candidate: Janardan Sharma

KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) Deputy General Secretary Janardan Sharma has claimed that consensus has been on Nepali Congress (NC) leader Ramchandra Poudel for the presidential election.

Talking to media persons on the House of Representatives premises on Friday, Sharma said the the joint meeting of Nepali Congress, Maoist Center, Janata Samajbadi Party and CPN (Unified Socialist) to be held at 5 pm will take a formal decision to this end.

Earlier, NC General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa said the meeting of five parties scheduled for 5 pm on Friday will take the final decision on presidential candidate.

However, CPN (Unified Socialist) is still proposing the parties to support its Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal for presidency.
