KATHMANDU: The government has promoted Joint Secretary Raghuram Bista to the rank of Secretary.
The cabinet meeting held on Thursday made the decision.
Earlier, a meeting of the Secretary Promotion Recommendation Committee had recommended Bista for promotion to Secretary.
The committee made the recommendation after a Secretary position became vacant when Ram Krishna Subedi, the Secretary of the Public Procurement Monitoring Office, retired on October 21.
Bista is currently serving as the Acting Principal Secretary of the Gandaki Province Government.
