Pun objects to PM Oli’s comments on electricity tariffs

KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) leader Barsha Man Pun objected to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli for allegedly digressing during the question-and-answer session in the House of Representatives on Monday.

In the meeting on Monday, Prime Minister Oli reached the rostrum to answer questions from lawmakers. He began speaking about electricity tariffs and other issues instead of directly addressing the questions raised by lawmakers.

This prompted Pun to stand up and raise a point of order. Pun claimed that the Prime Minister had used abusive language.

Upon hearing Pun’s remarks, the Prime Minister retorted, “Who’s being abusive?”

Subsequently, Speaker Devraj Ghimire asked Pun to take his seat and urged the Prime Minister to focus on the subject. The Prime Minister then insisted he was staying on topic.

Only after this exchange did PM Oli begin to answer the question posed by MP Dhanraj Gurung.
