KATHMANDU: Lumbini Province Assembly Member Dhan Bahadur KC has begun serving a jail sentence handed to him over three decades ago.
KC surrendered to the district court on Sunday.
The Rukum District Court had fined KC Rs 2,000 and sentenced him to one year in prison after convicting him of forgery 33 years ago. He had been absconding since the sentence.
KC was elected to the provincial assembly from Rukum East-1 (A) representing the Nepali Congress.
After the split of Rukum district into Rukum East and Rukum West, the Rukum East District Court was notified about the pending sentence against KC.
