BUTWAL: Protesters have carried out vandalism and arson across Rupandehi.
After staging protests in different parts of the district on Tuesday morning, they began targeting party offices and residences of political leaders in the afternoon.
Offices of the CPN-UML, CPN (Maoist Center), Nepali Congress, and other political parties, as well as private buildings, were vandalized and set on fire.
The protesters also attacked several private businesses, including Bhat-Bhateni Store, Dream International Hotel, Tulip Hotel and the Inland Revenue Office in Butwal, among dozens of other establishments.
The office of Radio Jagaran, located in the Shaheed Smriti Pratisthan building in Majhgaun, Butwal, was also attacked. Similarly, the house of Sainamaina Municipality Mayor Phanindra Sharma was also set ablaze.
Protesters have also vandalized and set fire to public and private property in Bhairahawa, Devdaha and Sainamaina, among other areas of Rupandehi.
