BUTWAL: The District Administration Office, Kapilvastu has imposed a prohibitory order in the Maharajganj area of Kapilvastu following tensions between two communities triggered by a dispute over devotional singing at a temple on Saturday morning.
Acting Chief District Officer Bhavishwar Ghimire issued the order after the situation escalated.
The prohibitory order has been enforced from 2 pm on Saturday until further notice.
The restricted area covers Bargadi Bridge to the east, Bahadurganj Chowk to the west, Maharajganj Bazaar to the north, and Hardauna to the south within Maharajganj Municipality.
All forms of gatherings, meetings, rallies, and demonstrations are prohibited in the designated areas as per Section 6 (3A) of the Local Administration Act, 1971.
