POKHARA: Prohibitory orders have been enforced in two locations in Pokhara due to demonstrations by Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) supporters.
Issuing a notice on Sunday, Kaski’s Chief District Officer Bharat Mani Pandey stated that the prohibitory orders have been enforced in the Gairapatan area—on the road from Palekhichowk to Nabin Secondary School—and in the Shahid Chowk area. The orders will remain in place from 11:45 am until further notice.
RSP supporters have been demonstrating in different parts of Pokhara to protest the arrest of their president, Rabi Lamichhane, who is under investigation for the alleged misappropriation of cooperative deposits.
Lamichhane was arrested in Kathmandu on Friday evening and brought to Pokhara. Police are preparing to present him before the court for a bail hearing on Sunday.
