KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has been bereaved of his wife.
Dahal’s wife Sita passed away on Wednesday morning while receiving treatment at Norvic International Hospital in Kathmandu. The hospital has confirmed her demise.
“Mrs. Sita Dahal, a 69-year-old female, was a known case of progressive supranuclear palsy, Parkinsonism, Diabetes Mellitus-II, and Hypertension. She was receiving domiciliary oxygen intermittently, and was on PEG feeding and an indwelling catheter. At 8 am, she experienced a cardiac arrest. Despite resuscitation efforts, she could not be revived and was declared dead at 8:33 am,” the hospital said in a statement.
As per family sources, Dahal’s body will be kept at the party headquarters in Koteshwar from 11 am until 1 am, allowing people to pay their respects. She will be cremated at the Pashupatinath Temple cremation grounds at 2 pm, according to the Prime Minister Dahal’s Secretariat.
She is survived by her husband and two daughters.
