Addressing a special ceremony at the Office of the President to mark Constitution Day 2024 on Thursday, Poudel urged everyone to place citizens at the forefront of state, governance, and politics.
President Poudel emphasized the need for a commitment to democracy, preserving its dignity even in difficult times, and moving forward with citizens at the center. He also called for dedication to good governance, ensuring that politics, state, and governance are guided by ethics, integrity, and values. Additionally, he urged a commitment to inclusivity and social justice, uniting various ethnicities, languages, religions, cultures, and civilizations.
“Brotherhood, unity, and empathy will be our way of life; social unity and mutual respect will be our cultural character,” he added.
President Poudel also called for a resolution to never compromise the country’s independence and sovereignty under any circumstances.
