President calls for government formation as per Article 76 (2)

KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has invited political parties to stake a claim for government formation.

According to a statement issued by the Office of the President, President Paudel has invited two or more parties to stake a claim for government formation as per Article 76 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal, 2015, by 5 pm on Sunday.

The two largest parties in the House of Representatives – Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML – are preparing to stake a claim for government formation on Friday itself. Leaders of the two parties have already signed the claim letter.

NC and UML have agreed to lead the government turns, with Oli leading the government for the next one and half years. NC President Deuba will then lead the government till th next election.
