Press Council to honor newspapers publishing regularly for 50 years

KATHMANDU: The Press Council Nepal (PCN) has announced that it will confer the ‘Press Council Honor’ on newspapers that have been published continuously for 50 years.

According to a press release issued by the PCN, a board meeting of the PCN held in Salyantar, Dhading, decided to honor newspapers that have maintained uninterrupted publication for five decades.

The meeting also decided to revise the procedures for various awards provided by the PCN to make them more transparent.

The PCN has also decided to conduct interactions on “Election Code of Conduct and Media” in major cities of all seven provinces ahead of the House of Representatives elections scheduled for March 5.

The first such interaction was organized in Dhadingbesi on Thursday.
