President summons winter session of parliament on January 31

KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Poudel has summoned the winter session of the federal parliament for Friday, January 31, at 1 pm.

A cabinet meeting held on Monday had decided to recommend the President to convene the winter session of both the House of Representatives and the National Assembly on January 31.

“In accordance with Article 93, Clause (1) of the Constitution of Nepal, and following the recommendation of the Council of Ministers dated January 20, 2024, President Poudel has summoned a session of both houses of the federal parliament at the International Convention Centre, New Baneshwar, on January 31, 2024, at 1:00 pm,” reads a press release issued on Tuesday by Shaileja Regmi Bhattarai, spokesperson for the Office of the President.
