KATHMANDU: The cabinet has approved President Ram Chandra Poudel’s visit to France, Germany, and Italy.
Poudel is attending the Paris Peace Forum to be held at Ile-De-France, Paris, on November 10 and 11. He will leave for Europe on November 8.
The forum focuses on identifying governance solutions under six major themes: managing the fallout of the multi-crises on populations; cooperating through conflicts; rethinking globalization in a polarized world; catalyzing climate and environmental solutions; ensuring a safer and ethical digital world; and fostering more inclusive and just societies.
It is being organized in partnership with the International Energy Agency (IEA), the EU, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and the UN Development Programme (UNDP), among other international and local organizations.
Likewise, the cabinet has permitted a delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Purna Bahadur Khadka to participate in the 18th Dubai Air Show, which is being held in the capital of the UAE on Nov 13-17.
It also approved the China visit of Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies Ramesh Rijal and the US visit of Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).
