KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel reached quake-hit Jajarkot and Rukum West districts on Tuesday demonstrating his solidarity and support to the earthquake survivors. He also made a stop at Jajarkot District Hospital to meet with injured individuals and prayed for their swift recovery.
The earthquake survivors requested President Paudel to arrange medical treatment, ensure access to food, build their houses, and provide them with means of livelihood. Kiran Pokharel, the press adviser to President Paudel, said: “The President reassured the earthquake survivors that the government is committed to providing food, shelter, and logistical support, as well as overseeing the reconstruction of residential houses.”
According to Pokharel, President Paudel said: “The government will carefully assess both short-term and long-term requirements, and make the necessary arrangements. There is no need to worry; I will personally raise these issues with the government.”
During his visit, the Chief District Officer of Jajarkot, Suresh Sunar, briefed President Paudel on the extent of damage caused by the earthquake.
President Paudel visited earthquake-affected regions in both Jajarkot and Rukum West.
