KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has convened an all-party meeting for Tuesday.
President Paudel has invited the top leaders of the national parties represented in Parliament for a discussion at 8:30 am on Tuesday. His efforts are aimed at facilitating the resolution of the ongoing impasse in Parliament which has been disrupted for an extended period.
Earlier, President Paudel engaged in discussions on the matter with Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire and the Chairman of CPN-UML, the main opposition party in Parliament, among others.
On Sunday, President Paudel held a meeting with Rabi Lamichhane, President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party. The meeting addressed issues related to the ongoing deadlock in the House.
CPN-UML has been obstructing House sessions since July 26, demanding the formation of a high-level inquiry committee to investigate the smuggling of 60 kg of gold through Tribhuvan International Airport.
