KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Arzu Raṇa Deuba has said that her ministry was preparing for Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s upcoming China visit.
Speaking to journalists at the Dhangadhi Airport on Friday, Rana said that the Chinese side would send agenda for discussions to be held during the visit.
“Our ministries are working to update the status of all the agreements and cooperation made with China. The foreign affairs minitry is also doing necessary preparation,” Rana said. “We will soon sit with the Prime Minister and decide what issues to prioritize during the visit.”
On a different note, Rana said hight-level political mechanism has been created to ensure better cooperation between the leaders and cadres of the two major and rival political parties. “Since this is the government of the two largest parties in the country, we felt the need for the mechanism for better coordination. This mechanism will materialize the plans of the senior leaders to form a stable government in the country,” she added.
Foreign Minister Raṇa was en route to her home district of Dadeldhura to attend the Ugratara Temple Fair.
