KATHMANDU: Minister for Finance, Barshaman Pun, has said that all preparations for the 2024 Nepal Investment Summit have been completed.
Speaking at a program organized by the Office of the Investment Board Nepal (OIBN) in Kathmandu on Monday evening, Poudel said important works like creating an environment conducive for investment, policy and procedural reforms, signing double taxation avoidance agreements, and conducting a sovereign rating of Nepal have been completed.
“We are expecting investments in infrastructure development, industrial and tourism infrastructure development, clean energy, IT, agri-processing, health, and education sectors,” Pun said. “The government has already made the necessary preparations.”
Also speaking on the occasion, OIBN CEO Suhil Bhatta said that they have put in a lot of effort to ensure maximum investor participation in the summit. According to Bhatta, more than 1,000 investors are expected to participate in the summit.
Nepal previously organized investment summits in 2017 and 2019.
