KATHMANDU: Prabhu Sah, the chairperson of the Aam Janata Party, tore apart the Federal Civil Service Bill from the parliament’s rostrum on Sunday.
Participating in a discussion on the Bill in the House of Representatives on Sunday, Sah said that provisions in the Bill were discriminatory and tore it apart.
He warned that the passage of the Federal Civil Service Bill in its current form would ‘ignite fire’ in the country.
Calling the Bill an attack on the future of the poor, Sah said the Bill was unacceptable and would mark a dark day for the underprivileged if passed. He also accused the government of attempting to exclude the poor from public service jobs.
He also announced a boycott of the House session, declaring that he would not participate in the process to endorse the bill.
