KATHMANDU: Police have arrested three foreign nationals with 2.654 kilograms of cocaine from different parts of Kathmandu.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) of Nepal Police presented the three before the media on Thursday. According to the NCB, all three are part of an international drug racket.
SSP Govinda Thapaliya of NCB said the arrested drug traffickers have been identified as Kevina Mugala and Lilian Susan of Uganda, and Deeva Johny Paul of India.
According to Thapaliya, 90 cocaine capsules weighing 1.26 kg were recovered from Kevina’s stomach at Nepal Police Hospital, Maharajgunj. Similarly, 1.394 kg of cocaine was recovered from Lilian when Deeva reached Dhobighat to receive the consignment, he added.
The seized cocaine is worth around Rs 79.6 million, according to police.
Police have remanded the three to custody under the Narcotic Drugs (Control) Act, 1976.
