KATHMANDU: Haribol Gajurel, the chief political adviser to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, has submitted his resignation.
The resignation, which he tendered four days ago, however, hasn’t been accepted yet, sources close to Prime Minister Dahal say.
Although Gajurel has said he is resigning due to personal reasons, sources believe he is stepping down to contest the National Assembly election.
The Election Commission is holding the National Assembly election on January 25 to fill 19 seats that are becoming vacant on March 4.
