KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Tuesday visited the Kathmandu Tarai/Madhesh Fast Track Road project site and took stock of the construction works.
Dahal had handed over the task of executing the mega road project to the Nepal Army in his second term as the Prime Minister.
According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, PM Dahal, and other high-ranking government officials visited different sections of the expressway.
Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Purna Bahadur Khakda, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Prakash Jwala, Minister for Finance Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, Chief Secretary Shankar Das Bairagi and Chief of Army Staff Prabhu Ram Sharma, among others, accompanied the prime minister.
The 72.5-kilometer expressway links Kathmandu with Nijgadh on the East-West Highway. It reduces the traveling distance from Kathmandu to Nijgadh by 193 kilometers.
