KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is seeking a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives on January 10.
The first meeting of the House of Representatives has been scheduled for January 9.
Rojnath Pandey, the spokesperson for the Federal Parliament Secretariat, has confirmed that the Prime Minister’s Office has informed the secretariat to include a vote of confidence in the parliamentary schedule for January 10. “The Prime Minister’s Office has informed the secretariat to include the vote of confidence in the parliament’s schedule,” he said. “The secretariat has made preparation accordingly.”
The Prime Minister will need a minimum of 138 votes from the 275-member parliament to remain in office. His seven-party coalition currently holds the support of 169 members.
