KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has received an invitation from the Emir of Qatar to attend the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Summit to be held in Qatar in October.
The Ambassador of Qatar to Nepal, Mishaal Bin Mohamed Ali Al-Ansari, met Prime Minister Oli at the latter’s office in Singha Durbar on Tuesday and handed over the invitation.
Matters of mutual interest and relations between the two countries were discussed during the meeting, according to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.
Founded in 2002 as an intergovernmental organization to promote cooperation at the continental level, ACD also aims to ensure coordination among different regional organizations like SAARC, ASEAN, and the Gulf Cooperation Council.
The first summit was held in Kuwait City in 2012, while Thailand hosted the second summit in 2016. Nepal participated in the second ACD Summit.
A total of 35 member states of Asia are members of the ACD.
