KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is addressing the House of Representatives on Monday.
CPN-UML Chief Whip Mahesh Bartaula confirmed to journalists on Friday that the Prime Minister would address the opposition’s concerns in Monday’s session.
The opposition parties have been obstructing the House session since Tuesday, demanding that the Prime Minister tell the parliament why Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Executive Director Kulman Ghising was sacked.
The Federal Parliament Secretariat said earlier in the day that the session scheduled for Friday has been postponed to Sunday.
“While Friday’s session was affected, an agreement has been reached to resume parliamentary business from Sunday onward,” Bartaula added.
The prolonged obstruction has stalled critical legislative work, including passage of the important replacement bill that the government has been pushing to approve.
