KATHMANDU: Koshi Province Chief Minister Kedar Karki has said that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has assured provinces that police adjustment will be done within two months.
Speaking to reporters after the National Coordination Council (NCC) meeting at Singha Durbar on Thursday, Karki stated that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal assured in the meeting that the federal parliament will pass essential laws like Police Adjustment, Civil Servants, and Electricity soon.
Karki also said that the next challenge for provincial governments would be to secure the endorsement of critical bills from the federal parliament.
“The Prime Minister has assured us that critical bills will be passed very soon. However, we reminded Prime Minister Dahal that many decisions from the first NCC meeting have yet to be implemented,” Karki stated. “Therefore, our next struggle will be with the federal parliament.”
Furthermore, Karki said that the delay in formulating crucial laws by the federal government has hindered the effectiveness of provincial governments in service delivery.
