KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is paying an official visit to China on September 23-30 at the invitation of Chinese Priem Minister Li Qiang.
PM Dahal’s personal secretary and daughter Ganga Dahal, Minister for Foreign Affairs NP Saud, Minister for Water Supply Mahindra Raya Yadav, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Prakash Jwala, National Security Advisor Shankar Das Bairagi, National Planning Commission Vice-chairman Min Bahadur Shrestha, and other government officials, businessmen and industrialists will accompany Dahal to China, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday.
Dahal will leave for China after addressing the 78th United Nations General Assembly in New York later on Thursday.
In China, Dahal will attend the inauguration ceremony of the Asian Games in Hangzhou. He is scheduled to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping, his counterpart Li Qiang and the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Zhao Leji.
Dahal is also scheduled to address the China-Nepal Investment Summit organized jointly by the China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and the Nepali Embassy in Beijing.
According to the ministry, Dahal will also visit Chongquing and Tibet Autonomous Region. He will return to Kathmandu on September 30 via Lhasa.
