KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed commitment to initiate amendments to privacy laws to make personal details of individuals assuming public office accessible to the public.
Receiving the annual report of the National Information Commission (NIC) for the fiscal year 2022/23 on Thursday, Dahal said it was essential to ensure citizens’ access to the personal information of public officials to establish good governance.
On the occasion, NIC Chief Commissioner Mahendra Man Gurung presented the annual report to Prime Minister Dahal.
According to NIC Commissioner Ratna Prasad Mainali, the Prime Minister, on the occasion, said he was positive about making NIC more resourceful.
NIC is making the report public by organizing a press meet later today.
