Petrol dearer by Rs 2 per liter, diesel price down Rs 4 per liter

KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has raised the price of petrol by Rs 2 per liter.

In a statement issued on Monday, the petroleum monopolist said a meeting of its Board of Directors held on Monday decided to raise the price of petrol by Rs 2 per liter, and lower the prices of diesel and kerosene by Rs 4 per liter each.

With the fresh adjustment, petrol will cost Rs 163 per liter in cities like Kathmandu and Pokhara, while diesel and kerosene will retail at Rs 146 per liter each.

The new prices will come into effect from Monday midnight.

According to the NOC, it adjusted the prices in line with the prices received from its sole supplier – the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC).

The IOC had raised the price of petrol by Rs 1.94 and lowered the price of diesel/kerosene by Rs 6.93.
