KATHMANDU: Preparations are underway to sign project development agreements (PDAs) with developers of three projects during the 2024 Emerging Nepal Investment Summit.
According to officials of the Office of the Investment Board Nepal (OIBN), needful preparations are being made to sign PDAs with developers of Nepal-China Friendship Industrial Park, Upper Marshyangdi-2 Hydropower Project, and Kohalpur and Banganga Solar Energy Project (250 MW) during the summit.
Likewise, preparations are underway to sign a Project Investment Agreement with Dabur Nepal Ltd, while expression of interest would be sought from investors for 20 projects.
The first day of the 2024 Nepal Investment Summit will feature two special sessions along with the inaugural session.
According to the program schedule of the Summit made public on Monday, the opening day will see two plenary sessions titled ‘Exploring Investment Opportunities in Nepal’ and ‘Success Stories of Investment in Nepal’.
Likewise, there will be four parallel sessions on the second day of the Summit. Each session will have three panel discussions. The Parallel Session 1 will have panel discussions on ‘Navigating Nepal’s Renewable Energy Potential’, ‘Discussions on Innovative Financing Landscape’, and ‘Investment Opportunities and Green and Climate Resilient Business in Nepal’.
Similarly, the Parallel Session 2 will feature panel discussions on ‘Harnessing Green Finance for Sustainable Investments’, ‘Investing in Tourism Paradise’, and ‘Strengthening Nepal’s Agro-processing Value Chain for Export Growth’. Likewise, the Parallel Session 3 features panel discussions on ‘Driving Innovation and Growth in Manufacturing’, ‘Enhancing Nepal’s Startup Climate and Ease of Doing Business’, and ‘ICT: a Vibrant Investment Platform’. The Parallel Session 4 will have a panel discussion on ‘Leveraging PPP for Infrastructure and Services.’
The 3rd Emerging Nepal Investment Summit is being held in The Soaltee Kathmandu on April 28 and 29. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is scheduled to inaugurate the summit.
More than 260 delegates from 31 countries have already confirmed their participation in the summit.
