KATHMANDU: A tree fell on a passenger van traveling from Dhading to Kathmandu on Prithvi Highway on Monday.
According to the District Police Office, Dhading, the incident occurred at Bange near Gajuri on the Prithvi Highway. “The van is trapped under the tree that fell onto the highway along with landslide debris. We have rescued 10 passengers so far, and some others are injured,” said DSP Makendra Kumar Mishra.
One seriously injured passenger has been sent to Kathmandu for treatment, according to the police.
Efforts are underway to clear the landslide debris and resume vehicular traffic, the police said.
