Parties submit election expenses to EC, Unified Socialist spent the most

KATHMANDU: All 47 political parties that participated in the November 20 proportional representation election have submitted their expenses to the Election Commission, according to the Commission.

According to data released by the Election Commission, the CPN (Unified Socialist) spent the most out of all the political parties in the proportional representation election, with expenses of Rs 19.08 million. The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) followed closely behind with expenses of Rs 18.9 million. On the other end, the Bahujan Shakti Party (BSP) reported the lowest expenses, with the party stating that it did not incur any expenses at all during the election.

Nepali Congress, the largest party in the House of Representatives, spent Rs 15.53 million in the proportional representation election. The CPN-UML incurred expenses of Rs 13.33 million, while the CPN (Maoist Center), which is leading the coalition government, spent Rs 10.43 million, as per the details submitted to the EC.

Additionally, the Rastriya Samajbadi Party (RSP), which contested the election for the first time, spent Rs 3.68 million on the campaign. Madhesh-based Janata Samajbadi Party and Janamat Party spent Rs 3.5 million and Rs 388,000 respectively.
