Parliamentary special investigation committee summons Lamichhane for questioning

KATHMANDU: The Parliamentary Special Investigation Committee on Misuse of Cooperative Savings has summoned former Home Minister and Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President, Rabi Lamichhane, for a statement.

Committee Chair Surya Thapa confirmed that Lamichhane is scheduled to attend the committee meeting at 2 am on Friday for questioning.

Before founding RSP in 2022, Lamichhane served as the Managing Director of Gorkha Media Network where deposits from several cooperatives were reportedly invested. He, however, has denied any involvement in the misuse of cooperative funds.

The committee has also summoned Chhabilal Joshi, a board member of Gorkha Media Network, for questioning on Friday.
