KATHMANDU: Officiating President Ramsahaya Prasad Yadav has prorogued the winter session of both the House of Representatives and National Assembly from Friday midnight.

The decision was taken as per Article 93 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal on the recommendation of the cabinet, according to the Office of the President.

The cabinet recommended proroguing the winter session to prepare for the summer session when the government brings the budget for the new fiscal year. As per the Constitution of Nepal, the government must bring fiscal budget on May 29.
