KATHMANDU: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kirati, said he feels some ‘other people’ are running the government and the parliament.
“We are like dummies as others are running the parliament and ministries. We are like men in the showcase. This is what I feel,” Kirati candidly shared his sentiments regarding the current state of affairs, speaking at the meeting of the International Relations and Tourism Committee of the House of Representatives on Tuesday. He expressed his perception that the parliament and the government are being steered by external forces, while he feels like a mere observer within his own ministry.
Recognizing the urgent need to update several laws related to the tourism sector, Kirati appealed to the lawmakers for their support in undertaking these necessary reforms. Furthermore, he said that the ministry intends to present a bill concerning aviation safety to the cabinet for endorsement in the near future.
