KATHMANDU: The government has formed a high-level investigation committee led by former Chief Secretary Shankar Das Bairagi to probe the visit visa controversy.
A cabinet meeting held on Monday took the decision.
According to cabinet sources, the committee will include joint secretaries from the Ministries of Home Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The committee has been given three months to complete its investigation and submit a report.
The probe will focus on alleged irregularities at the immigration office of Tribhuvan International Airport related to visit visas.
