PAN organizes Nepal Pilot Summit, unveils series of programs

KATHMANDU: The newly established Pilot Association of Nepal (PAN) has unveiled a series of programs to elevate professional standards among pilots and raise the organization’s profile.

The association plans to organize mental health programs, mentorship initiatives, and collaborative sessions with air traffic controllers and dispatchers from July to September 2023.

From October to December 2023, PAN will focus on professional development through workshops covering regulations and advanced training, along with guest lectures by industry experts. It also plans to acquire membership of the IFALMA (International Federation of Air Line Pilots’ Associations) to strengthen its international ties.

Likewise, it plans to establish a Meteorological (MET) Cell to improve weather forecasting dissemination, launching community outreach programs, and initiating merchandising activities from December to March next year.

The programs were announced during the Nepal Pilot Summit held in Kathmandu this week. Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, and stakeholders of the aviation industry were present in the Summit.
