KATHMANDU: Over 10,000 students received diplomas and degrees at the 48th convocation of Tribhuvan University (TU) held in Lalitpur on Friday.
Out of 62,267 students in PhD, M.Phil, Master’s and Diploma programs, only around 10,000 participated in the convocation ceremony, according to (TU).
Addressing the ceremony, TU Chancellor and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba said the TU has been focusing on quality education to produce human resources needed for the country.
Students of faculties like Law, Management, Humanities and Social Sciences, Education, Engineering, Agriculture and Livestock Studies, Medicine, Forestry, and Science and Technology participate in the convocation.
Chancellor Deuba also handed over awards and certificates to the toppers.
Also speaking on the occasion, Minister for Education, Science and Technology Devendra Poudel said there as a need to develop TU as a center for producing capable human resources for all over the world.
