KATHMANDU: More than 100 juveniles managed to escape from a child correction home located in Bhaktapur on Monday.
According to the police, these juveniles made their escape by forcibly breaking open the doors of the home on Monday afternoon.
DSP Basanta Pathak from the District Police Range in Bhaktapur stated that approximately 100 juveniles fled from the facility. Pathak further mentioned that a small number of escapees have been recaptured, and efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the remaining.
Trouble brewed at the home on Sunday due to the passing of a juvenile named Kamal Basnet. His family members were staging a protest at the entrance of the home when the group of juveniles took advantage of the situation, broke open the doors, and fled.
