KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Pradip Paudel has said that the priority of the party should be the election, not the reinstatement of parliament.
Speaking during an interaction with journalists on Tuesday, holding the election on the scheduled date reflects the spirit and aspirations of the Gen Z movement. “Our priority is the election itself,” he added.
Paudel also said the party should elect a new leadership from its 15th general convention and contest the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5. “We should elect new leadership, adopt policies aligned with the spirit of the Gen Z movement, and energize the organisation before contesting the polls,” he added.
NC is holding its 15th General Convention in Kathmandu on Jan 10-12.
“The convention schedule may not be entirely practical and could change slightly, but the general convention must be completed before the general election,” he said.
Paudel also urged the government to ensure a fair, free, and fraud-free environment for the election.
