LUMBINI: CPN (Maoist Center) Deputy General Secretary Barsha Man Pun has said that the Maoist Center-led government was removed beause of its people-oriented works.
Addressing a party meeting in Bhairahawa on Tuesday, Pun said the Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML joined hands against the Maoist Center-led government after it initiated investigations against different scams including Bhutanese refugees. “Everyone knows why the government was toppled,” Pun said. “We can change this government if we want. But are not focused on forming a government. Our focus is now on strengthening party organization.”
He also claimed there were no internal problems in the party. “Discussions do happen in political parties. It shouldn’t be understood that the party is heading toward a split,” Pun said.
Also speaking on the occasion, in-charge of the Lumbini Province Committee of the party, said women, Dalits and backward groups could reach the political mainstream due to the Maoist people’s war.
