One leader can’t shake party history, Dahal says referring to Janardan

KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal has stated that the party and the movement’s history will not be halted simply because Deputy General Secretary Janardan Sharma does not believe in it.

Speaking to journalists at Biratnagar Airport on Thursday, Dahal said that one individual’s disbelief cannot stop the party or its movement. “Even if one person like Janardan does not believe, the party, the movement, and its history will not be stopped. Our Standing Committee has made this clear,” Dahal added.

The former Prime Minister reached Biratnagar on Thursday to attend the party’s Koshi Province Committee Secretariat meeting.

Dahal also said the upcoming party leadership meeting will revisit the statements made by Janardan.

The verbal sparring between Dahal and Janardan has intensified in recent days.

When asked by journalists about the “self-interest groups” frequently raised by the Maoists, Dahal again directed his remarks at Janardan. “Those who act outside the party’s interests, line, methods and procedures, and hold meetings or carry out activities against the party, are self-interest groups,” he said.
